The American company, founded in 1836 by William Procter and James Gamble, manufactures a wide range of consumer products, including laundry and cleaning supplies, cosmetics and personal care brands. It operates in over 180 countries, with USD76.12 billion in global net sales in fiscal year 2021.

P&G shares in the Alliance’s commitment to trade facilitation reform that makes cross-border trade more straightforward and accessible for all countries. By joining as a global business partner, P&G is cementing an already strong collaboration of sharing experiences and best practices to support Alliance projects in developing and least-developed countries.

The company joins a roster that includes some of the world’s largest manufacturers, retailers, and logistics firms, as well as hundreds of local businesses and chambers of commerce. Alliance business partners provide their skills and expertise to trade facilitation projects that help developing and least-developed countries boost their economic growth by making trade easier and more accessible for companies of all sizes.

“P&G is delighted to have the opportunity to partner with the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation. This is an excellent initiative that brings together private and public sector expertise to facilitate trade across national borders,” said Selina Jackson, Senior Vice President, Global Government Relations and Public Policy at Procter & Gamble. “We believe that business has an important role to play in building an inclusive trading environment by helping countries and their citizens engage in the global economy to secure the benefits of trade. P&G supply chains contribute to employment, growth, and the transfer of technology and skills in many emerging markets while at the same time giving consumer access to high-quality products. We are looking forward to working under the umbrella of the Alliance to further improve the access of consumers to our brands and to facilitate trade flows. We embrace this opportunity to be a force for good and a force for growth.”

“We are thrilled to have Procter & Gamble join as a partner,” said Philippe Isler, the Alliance’s Director. “Our collaboration with P&G will strengthen and enhance our ability to deliver impactful trade facilitation reforms across the developing world that lift micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and support governments in implementing the World Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement.”
