Trade is a document intensive process requiring various licences, permits and certificates. While such documentation is needed to ensure that traders comply with regulations, the absence of automated systems increase trade costs and has a detrimental environmental impact.
In partnership with the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF), the Alliance is hosting a session at the 2023 WTO Public Forum on accelerating eCERT adoption to digitalise trade documents.
Using ePhyto as a case study, this session will explore concrete ways in which we can digitalise the process of acquiring key trade documents for the benefit of the planet. It will bring together experts from both public and private sectors to assess the economic and societal values derived from eCertification. The session will take place in an interactive panel format, enabling the moderator, panelists, and audience to engage in an open and dynamic discussion.
