The Alliance is delighted to announce a new partnership with ETG Group, strengthening its commitment to continue and intensify its work in Africa.

ETG, a global conglomerate with a presence in more than 45 countries, has strong regional supply chains in the some of the world’s fastest-growing markets and is one of the largest such businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Since its formation in 1967, the group has been steadily building a diverse globalised portfolio of business assets, now encompassing significant expertise in agricultural inputs, chemicals, logistics, processing, food and food ingredients, energy, metals, minerals, technology, and supply chain optimisation.

The partnership with the Alliance aligns with the company’s mission to simplify and standardise trade processes for the benefit of farming communities in Africa. The Alliance, with a portfolio of more than 20 projects in Africa, has extensive experience in reducing trade barriers, optimising supply chains and implementing digital solutions that can boost economic growth in the region.

ETG brings invaluable expertise and a deep understanding of the region’s trade challenges. Leveraging ETG’s extensive network and operational experience will assist the work of the Alliance in identifying and addressing critical trade bottlenecks, particularly at border crossings.

“We are excited to partner with ETG, a company with a global reach but retaining a strong commitment to Africa, and with a proven track record in many aspects of trade, particularly logistics,” said Alliance Director Philippe Isler. “ETG’s in-depth knowledge of the region will be instrumental in accelerating our efforts to boost trade facilitation and support economic growth.”

Global business partners are seminal to the Alliance’s public-private partnership approach, contributing vital knowledge and best practices in pursuit of trade facilitation goals in developing and least developed countries.

By collaborating with border agencies and implementing trade facilitation solutions, the Alliance and ETG aim to reduce trade costs, cut delays, and facilitate the movement of goods across borders.

“We see this partnership as a strategic opportunity to contribute to the development of resilient supply chains,” said Paul van Spaendonk, ETG Chief Treasury Officer. “By working closely with the Alliance, we can leverage our expertise to address critical trade challenges and create a more efficient and inclusive trading environment.”
